Bodybuilders have known for years about the direct connection between fiber and fat loss. However, until recently, it has been one of the few well kept secrets of those who intend to build muscle or trim body fat. Now, reports are coming out showing this correlation as well as the drop in occurrence of chronic degenerative diseases.

Fiber is the one found in the cell walls of fruits and vegetables. Since cell walls are only found in the plants that you eat, your meat would not be able to provide you with fiber. There are also two types of fiber available; one is soluble, which means it can dissolve in water, and the other is insoluble, which is just opposite of soluble fiber. Both can be taken and are necessary addition to your diet. With them, you can reduce your calorie intake since plants have very low caloric measures.

These fibers function in totally different methods to make sure that you can definitely take care of your health properly. The soluble fiber works well with the bile, which is produced in your liver, and goes together with the cholesterol in the blood, getting rid of triglycerides; you get rid of soluble fibers and thus triglycerides through the process called elimination. Thus, you are able to prevent triglyceride build-up.

Insoluble fiber provides bulk. It is what is responsible for the feeling of fullness after we eat. Insoluble fiber does not digest completely in the digestive tract, meaning that it is also the bulk of the matter we eliminate from the bowels. While it does not dissolve in water, it does absorb it, helping to maintain the correct balance of water in the bowels and prevent constipation or diarrhea. Strange how more fiber in the diet prevents both extremes of bowel problems!

Insoluble fiber also takes credit in getting rid of the fat that has already bonded with the soluble fiber out of your body.

In addition to all of these benefits, fiber in general leads to the body burning its fat stores ridding the body of toxins that could cause illness and premature aging and consequently giving a person more energy.

Fibers can greatly help obese people from getting rid of excess fat and maintaining the ideal weight by just replacing sugary, starchy foods, and some of red meat, with more fruits and vegetables which are high in fiber. Moreover, they can see drastic results if they can couple such diet with exercise, which also helps increase metabolism and burn calories.

The direct correlation between increasing fiber intake and fat loss is undeniable. And adding fiber to our diets reduces the risk of developing many degenerative health problems because the same foods that are high in fiber are also highest in the nutrients needed by the body to prevent diseases.

Though one cannot deny the weight loss benefits of fiber, read about the best method to lose fat through caloric shifting. Visit our How To Slow Aging blog today.

An extremely important factor for your health is you diet, and this includes what you drink. A vital factor in your health is the cleanliness of the water you drink, and most Americans aren't drinking clean drinking water if it comes from the tap.

An extremely important factor for your health is you diet, and this includes what you drink. A vital factor in your health is the cleanliness of the water you drink, and most Americans aren’t drinking clean drinking water if it comes from the tap.

Drinking clean water is essential to our health from a number of different points of view. Right now thousands are dying of Cholera in Zimbabwe from drinking water contaminated with Cholera.

There is no cholera in the US, but that doesn’t mean that our drinking water supplies are clean. In fact there are hundreds of different contaminants that can be found in our drinking water, and although they won’t kill us fast like cholera will they are still damaging to our health over time.

Consider this. I’m sure you know how serious it is to get lead into our bodies. None other than the EPA has stated that lead in drinking water is the number one environmental health threat to our childrens health. Low levels of lead can cause serious problems for children including learning difficulties and behavioral problems and more.

Can you believe that something as dangerous as lead is in our water? We’re drinking lead? Aren’t our water supplies meant to be clean?

Lead is in our water and is an ongoing problem. It comes from many different places but mainly from our pipes. Around 98% of our household plumbing has lead in it in the solder and the joins. So a lot of the lead gets into the water in our house.

The EPA recognises that there is no safe level of lead in our water, that any exposure to lead is dangerous, especially to children.

And lead is just the start. There are hundreds of other contaminants that can be found in our water. We aren’t drinking clean water at all.

This is pretty scary, and you’d be forgiven for wondering what you can do to make sure you’re drinking clean water. How do you make sure your drinking water is clean. Should you be drinking bottled water?

The FDA has said “Companies that market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American public.” And there’s good reason for that statement. Simply because there are no government regulations that specify that bottled water should be any safer than tap water. And some bottled water is just tap water, and the price of bottled water is higher, quantity for quantity, than the price of gas. Bottled water is a fraud.

And bottled water is an environmental disaster, with countless plastic bottles manufactured to go into landfill.

So clearly drinking bottled water isn’t the answer to clean water. So what do you do if the prospect of drinking lead or any one of the other contaminants like drugs, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, chlorine or more repulses you? You use a high quality water filter. The best water filters will remove just about all contaminants from the water you drink. The best filters will filter 99.99% of chlorine for instance.

How can you tell if a water filter is the best? It’s perfectly possible to test for how well a water filter works and independent tests are done on water filters, so you can check and compare one to another. And the very best drinking water filters should filter out over about 98% of contaminants in our water, including some you’ve probably never heard about.

Here’s an example. Did you know there was bromochloroacentontrile in your tap water? Never heard of it? What in the world is it? How dangerous is it? It doesn’t matter if you use the best water filter you know that over 97% of it is gone.

So if you’re beginning to get worried about contaminants in your drinking water like lead, you have good reason. You have a right to clean drinking water, but you won’t get it from the faucet. To get seriously clean drinking water you need to use the best drinking water filter possible.

And you’d be forgiven for assuming that the best drinking water filter was the most expensive, but it’s not. Find out more about drinking water filters at my website.

The Atkins Grapefruit diet is a diet plan, not supported by the eponymous Dr. Atkins company, that tries to play on the fame of two diets: the grapefruit diet and the Atkins diet. However, a close look at this diet reveals that it may not be all it claims to be.

First of all, it’s pretty difficult to any find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan at all. Clever people realize that when someone is perpetrating a deception, they will usually skim over the facts. This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet appears to be doing while trying to get people to associate it with two supposedly effective diets.

Is the Atkins Grapefruit Diet part of the Atkins Diet or recommended by the late Dr. Atkins’ firm? The answer is a loud no! But, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins web site, there is just no fruit of any kind mentioned in the list of allowed foods in the Atkins diet Induction phase either.

The induction phase includes the following foods: Fish of all kinds. All fowl such as turkey and chicken. Any shellfish. Any meat such as beef or pork. Eggs cooked in any style including fried. Cheese. Vegetables. Herbs and Spices. Fats and Oils. Low carbohydrate beverages including diet soft drinks.

Please, notice one thing – that fruit does not feature on that list at all! Yes, later phases of the Atkins diet do allow limited amounts of fruits such as cantaloupe and lemon juice, and the pre-maintenance and maintenance phases do even allow small quantities of grapefruit, but when judged in comparison with the amount of Grapefruit advised on the Atkins Grapefruit Diet there is a massive difference.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. Even the most generous phases of the Atkins diet suggests limiting intake to below 8 carbs per day, with regard to grapefruit. That is a direct contradiction of one diet to the other.

Most reasonable people would look directly at the Atkins website the moment they heard of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet. When they found no mention of that diet on their site, a red light would go off and an alarmbell would ring.

In general, remember this: any diet that relies too heavily on one food, such as grapefruit in a grapefruit diet, is unhealthy for any but very short periods. The Atkins Grapefruit Diet is not associated with the Atkins diet, and may interfere with the results of the Atkins diet in its early phases.

Besides physical appearance, weight affects a person in many ways. It could be the overall standard of life, self-confidence, depression, health risks, or physical incapabilities. There are a lot of advantages to weight loss, which is why a lot of people are searching for a weight loss program that will trim down those excess pounds and get a great, eye-popping body.

The first thing that an over-weight person ought to do is seek a doctor to recommend the best weight loss program. This will be done after a full physical examination, which leads to the determination of a proprietary weight loss technique. To shed excess pounds fast and effectively, four aspects of your life has to be changed: what to eat, how to eat, behavior and activity level.

Below are some fast recommendations that can change an over-weight individual’s life:

1: Quick weight loss is achieved by a multi-faceted plan that comprises mindset, exercise, and, in some cases, dietary supplements. Start by studying a food regimen that can be easily incorporated into your current way of life. Follow an exercise regimen that requires at least fifteen minutes a day lively walking, running, swimming and/or dancing.

2: Set realistic targets. The ability to focus and have a proper mindset enables someone on a diet to quickly lose those extra pounds. With discipline and a proper outlook, a dieter will never be discouraged and lose focus.

3: Listen to what your body is saying. everybody’s body behaves differently to different fast weight loss programs. Swap one regimen for another to gauge the body’s reaction. An exercise program ought to be suited to your body, because some can not exercise as rigorously as others. If walking is all that you can do, then walk, since this is one of the best exercises. Don’t forget that muscles burn calories, so try to put on a little more muscle – it looks good too.

4: Eat more fibre since it makes you feel fuller sooner and takes longer to digest, making it longer before you will be hungry again. For instance, a couple of slices of whole grain bread will remain in the body longer and put off hunger longer than white bread, which turns in to glucose more quickly. giving you a quick, sugar spike, which soon passes, leaving you hungry again.

5: Keep away from fried food especially deep-fried, as it contains a large amount of fat. However, although fish and chicken appear to be leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than beef when it is fried. It is recommended for those on a strict diet opt for grilled food as it does not have much fat after the food is cooked.

6: Drink lots of fluid. Drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day keeps the body ‘flushing’ and since weight loss depends on how the body gets rid of bodily waste, the body must stay hydrated.

All in all, discipline and consistency is still the best practice and the key to fast weight loss success. Light dieting, workout, and the correct amount of supplementation applied in a regular way everyday will result in a faster weight loss than having a massive action campaign that is only followed by a return to the bad old ways, as this would only lead to adding more weight than before the weight loss plan was started.

Some of these changes are easy to implement like using two different recipes to make one healthy low carb recipe. There are also counters that can help you find out if your choice of food items is keeping you within the boundaries of your low carb diet.

A list of food that you want to buy is also good for cooking low carb recipes. To complete the transformation to cooking low carb recipes, you should have your kitchen mirror this lifestyle change. If you do this, you will have all of the kitchen implements and staples for cooking low carb recipes already stocked up in your kitchen.

This does not have to be anything fancy, you understand. For the most part, as long as you stay away from foods which are high in carbs, and keep cooking low carb meals you will be okay.

This does not mean that you have to avoid carbs completely, only that you should limit the quantities when cooking low carb recipes to the bare minimum. As I mentioned earlier, this can severely cramp your manner of cooking. Low carb recipes aren’t easy to follow if you really love your pastas and bread.

However, with only a minimal change on your part, you can turn out meal after meal of low carb recipes. If you’re not the one on the low carb diet, then this may make you reluctant to try cooking low carb meals, but you’ll be surprised at the amount of really great tasting food that you can turn out when you start looking to low carb recipes.

Then again, if you’re not the one on the low carb diet you always have the option of adding a few high carb dishes to your menu along with the low carb dishes, and enjoy your meal in your way. This way everyone gets what they want and you have no problems with preparing low carb recipes or pandering to the dieter in your family!

You should never skip out on breakfast, being the most important meal of the day. It is important to watch what you eat for breakfast too, eat something healthy otherwise you will just end up hungry again in a couple of hours. Eat something that will last until you are ready to eat lunch.

Cold cereal is probably the most common breakfast foods. Be careful not to choose one with lots of sugar and not a lot of fiber either; something like a whole grain.

Adding low fat milk and some sort of fruit to this will make it even healthier. Putting bananas in you cereal is delicious and healthy. Also adding some eggs or peanut butter with toast will add some good protein to your meal.

There are many different way to keep the fat content low when cooking eggs. You can also put your eggs on a piece of toast to get some carbs in your meal.

You can throw some peppers and mushrooms to you eggs and make a delightful omelet. Eggs can be very filling because of the high protein count. Keeping hard boiled eggs in your refrigerator can be very convenient for when you are running late in the morning.

If you don’t like to eat right away when you get up in the morning, you should still have something small, like toast, and then bring some healthy breakfast foods to eat later in the morning when you get hungry.

A smart thing to do is get some instant oatmeal that you can pack to work and then just add water and heat it up when you get to the office. Bring along some fruit and maybe some nut and your set for a delicious, office made breakfast.

There are also a lot of grab and go options on the market these days. These include cereal bars and prepared smoothies. Just be sure that you choose an option that doesn’t have a ton of sugar and that isn’t very full of fat. You want to make sure it has plenty of fiber and protein so that it will be filling and keep you from getting hungry again right away.

Coming up with the perfect breakfast foods can be difficult, especially when your looking for a healthy breakfast. Here are some easy guidlines to follow to get a total, balanced breakfast.

Regardless of the supposition that simply exercising or dieting can basically affect someones health, emotions as well as feelings greatly contribute to peoples health in general. Despite the widespread knowledge that resting adequately, exercising regularly, quitting smoking and taking multivitamins are generally the steps to be taken when striving to live healthily. People with intentions of living healthy lives do their best to avoid illnesses or diseases by eating specific and natural foods as well as gaining an educational background involving healthy products and lifestyles.

When various websites dedicate themselves to furnish information that basically targets health or fitness education, general health or wellness as well as natural healing and this consists of visualization through positive thinking. Natural anti-aging products have been accessible through modern technology and scientists have ensured that information supply regarding health or nutrition is rather constant. They have also brought more light on exercises and their benefits on both the mental being and the physical aspect as well.

One major component to the maintenance of good health is good nutrition. Maintaining good nutrition involves increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables while eating less red meat. People should eat more whole grains; reduce the consumption of starch and sugar, ensure they drink water in large quantities while moderately drinking alcohol. The consumption of organic foods is quite recommendable and these foods generally include foods grown devoid of hormones, and antibiotics. These are usually sold in stores that specialize in health products.

Another component that contributes to living a healthy life is exercise. Aerobic exercise is very important in the well being of our bodies. Aerobic exercise may simply involve running, riding a bike or simply taking a walk at a brisk pace. Exercises that generally involve bearing some form of weight should also be performed and this requires joining a gym. Gyms have personal trainers who provide important information as well as teach the means of safe exercising.

The key to starting a successful home organic garden is to remember to start small. This way will allow you to learn and become comfortable with your journey without causing you unwanted stress or frustration.

Small is Best

Use Your Existing Landscape – Placing starter plants in your existing landscaping is an optimum option for beginning enthusiasts.

Small Beds ” Dont go larger than 10 X 10 foot beds at first. Smaller areas are easier to manage for beginners.

Use Containers – This method allows your starter plants to be close by and easy to manage. They can be on a porch, balcony or even near some bushes.

Map Out Your Location

Water – Having water close to your garden allows for easy access. Having to trudge heavy watering cans long distance can be both back breaking and frustrating.

Close to Your Kitchen – While this is not necessary, it sure is nice to step out of your kitchen to grab your own freshly grown produce.

Compost – Having the luxury of a nearby compost pile or the use of a wheel barrow can definitely cut down on back breaking work.

Grow Your Personal Favorites

When you are purchasing your produce at a store, pay close attention, these are what you want to grow in your organic garden.

Grow What Costs the Most – If you have favorite vegetables but don’t want to pay a high price for them, try growing them yourself, provided of course they will grow in your climate zone.

Choose Variety – Having your own organic garden gives you the freedom to explore and experiment with many different plants.

Keep it Easy

Plants are Easier than Seeds – Seeds require a lot more work. As a beginner, the easiest way to get your feet wet without frustration is to use starter plants from a trusted local nursery.

Amend the Soil – Drainage is imperative for a successful organic garden. Using a mixture of peat moss, compost or other amendable products will ensure your soil is optimum for growing hardy plants. Soggy, clay will result in root rot and dry soil should be covered in at least two to four inches of mulch. The mulch promotes conserving moisture for your plants while defending against pesky weeds that steal water and nutrients from your precious plants. In addition, compacted soil deters plants from receiving the nutrients they need.

Mulch – This promotes moisture retention as mentioned earlier. It also keeps those pesky weeds at bay.

You need to use these vegetables in stead of your regular vegetables. There are many great tasting things that you can do with low carb vegetables.

They can be used in the various diet recipes or used for salads. They are great by themselves as healthy snacks and you can also blend them for a nutritious drink.
