There is nothing better than traveling to Hawaii and tasting their delicious Macaroni Salad. If you’ve ever been to a luau, you know how great their Macaroni Salad is and how quickly it disappears. And unlike a luau, this homemade Hawaiian Macaroni Salad can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. Add only 10 minutes to the recipe if you have to go to the grocery store to pick up a couple ingredients, but chances are you already have everything at home.
You probably already have all of the ingredients you need to make Hawaiian Macaroni Salad. And, if you have 30 minutes of time, you can make it very quickly for your family to enjoy. Don’t sweat it though if you don’t have all the ingredients. A 10 minute trip to the grocery store is all you need to pick up any missing ingredients and once you get home, you can turn on your favorite sitcom and by the time it’s over, you’ll have delicious Hawaiian Macaroni Salad for your family.
First step, go to the grocery store and purchase these inexpensive ingredients (you may have many of these at home already): carrots, macaroni, mayo, pepper, salt, and milk.
Second step, cook the macaroni for 8 minutes or so, or until tender. This is the key to your salad because the texture and softness of the macaroni is crucial.
Next step, cut and add the grated carrots, mayonnaise, and milk and coat well. Salt & Pepper should be added, as you like and to taste. You may choose to use more mayonnaise if needed or if desired.
Fourthly, cover and put into the refrigerator to chill. You can serve later on in the day, so it’s a time saver since you can make it in the morning.
The last step is to get creative and maybe add ham, peas, boiled eggs or tuna. Try out different additions and see what your family likes!
